Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has expanded its facility in Laem Chabang, Chonburi, within Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The new 4,900 square meter facility aims to support local exporters and importers seeking to expand internationally.

The upgraded site is nearly four times larger than the previous one and features advanced technology capable of sorting up to 3,000 packages per hour. An adjacent 4,560 square meter warehouse offers multi-modal freight solutions in collaboration with FedEx Logistics. These include air, ocean, and land services as well as a range of ancillary services like dedicated vehicle pick-up/delivery and specialized handling services.

To provide greater convenience, FedEx has extended shipment preparation times to 4:00 pm for exports from key industrial areas such as Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong. Located strategically at the Pinthong Logistics Park, the facility ensures easy access to these regions for door-to-door parcel and freight delivery.

“FedEx is committed to empowering local businesses,” stated Sasathorn Phaspinyo, managing director of FedEx Thailand. “By investing in infrastructure enhancements and service improvements, we facilitate faster, more flexible and more efficient cross-border commerce.”

Dr. Chula Sukmanop of the EEC Office highlighted the expansion's alignment with Thailand’s goal of becoming ASEAN’s leading logistics hub. “This investment... underscores the EEC and Thailand’s readiness to serve as a prime investment destination for key industries,” he said.

The expansion supports economic growth within the EEC region which contributes significantly to Thailand’s GDP. The EEC Development Plan seeks to attract significant investments between 2023-2027 by transforming the eastern region into a high-tech industry hub under the Thailand 4.0 strategy.
