Starlux Airlines has unveiled a new route linking Taipei Taoyuan International Airport with Ontario International Airport in California. The service, set to commence on June 2, 2025, will operate four times weekly using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

This move places Starlux in direct competition with China Airlines, which currently runs daily flights on the same route. At 5,934 nautical miles, this will be Starlux's longest route to date. Flights are scheduled as follows: JX010 departs Taipei at 20:05 and arrives in Ontario at 17:05 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; JX009 leaves Ontario at 23:10 and reaches Taipei at 04:15 two days later.

The airline's A350-900s can accommodate up to 306 passengers across four classes—first class with private suites, business class featuring lie-flat beds, premium economy with Recaro seats offering extra legroom, and economy class with personal video screens.

Passengers traveling with Starlux can expect high-quality onboard service highlighted by Michelin-inspired cuisine. The airline recently received the Airline Passenger Experiences Association (APEX) Five Star Major Airline Award for its cabin comfort and service quality. CEO Glenn Chai commented on the accolade: “This award fills us with immense pride and gratitude."

Ontario International Airport saw a record-breaking number of passengers in 2024. Alan D. Wapner from the airport authority remarked on this achievement: “We believed the 7 million passenger mark was achievable in 2024 and indeed it was."

Starlux also serves Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle from Taipei. CEO Glenn Chai stated that their expanded trans-Pacific routes "reaffirm our dedication to expanding our US network." The carrier plans further growth but remains outside major airline alliances.
