Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers has been a significant hub for air travel, serving over 11 million passengers last year. The airport ranks as the second-busiest single-runway airport in the United States, following San Diego International Airport. This report examines the top ten busiest routes from RSW this February, based on data from Cirium.

At number ten is the route between Fort Myers and Chicago Midway (MDW), with 108 flights operated by Southwest Airlines. The airline offers up to four daily flights using Boeing 737 aircraft of various models, providing a total of 17,940 seats.

The ninth busiest route connects Fort Myers to Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), serviced primarily by Delta Air Lines with 112 flights. Delta uses a mixed fleet including Airbus A321s and Boeing 737s to offer 23,363 seats on this route.

Similarly busy is the connection between Fort Myers and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), also featuring 112 flights operated by American Airlines. With a combination of Airbus A320s and Boeing 737-800s, American Airlines provides over 20,000 seats for this route.

Fort Myers to Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) ranks seventh with 115 flights by Southwest Airlines. The airline uses its Boeing aircraft to offer over 18,000 seats for travelers heading to Baltimore.

Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is another key destination with Delta Air Lines operating 116 flights from RSW. The airline offers more than 22,000 seats using its Airbus A321 aircraft.

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) holds the fifth position with United Airlines running up to five daily flights totaling 144 in February. The service provides nearly 26,000 seats across different aircraft types.

The fourth busiest route links Fort Myers with Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). American Airlines operates up to eight daily flights offering over 32,000 seats on this east coast connection.

JetBlue leads operations on the third busiest route between Fort Myers and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). With five daily services using Airbus A220-300s and A320s, JetBlue offers around 27,730 seats this month.

United Airlines connects RSW with Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) through six daily flights. In February alone, there are expected to be about 31,251 available seats on this route.

Finally, Delta Air Lines' service between Fort Myers and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) tops the list as the busiest route from RSW. With eight daily connections providing over 43,347 seats in total for February.

These routes highlight the extensive connectivity provided by Southwest Florida International Airport across major U.S cities.
