Private jet travel in the United States has experienced significant growth following the COVID-19 pandemic, with several airports seeing increased traffic. This trend is attributed to factors such as the expansion of jet cards and charter club programs, which have made private aviation more accessible.

Major airlines like United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and British Airways have been increasing their premium offerings. However, they still face challenges in meeting the needs of ultra-high-net-worth private jet travelers. Some airlines are investing in private jet charter operators; for instance, Delta has acquired a controlling stake in Wheels Up.

The clientele for private jets has diversified beyond business travelers to include those traveling for leisure. The convenience and luxury of private jets continue to attract a growing number of passengers.

Teterboro Airport (TEB) remains the busiest airport for private jets in the U.S., with 74,832 flights recorded in 2024. It saw a slight increase of 0.3% over 2023. Located near New York City, Teterboro serves as a hub for many major private jet operators.

Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) ranked second despite a 1.8% decrease in operations from 2023, recording 41,967 flights last year. The airport serves affluent communities around West Palm Beach.

Dallas Love Field (DAL) retained its third-place ranking with 40,332 flights in 2024, marking a growth of 1.7%. The facility is known both as a hub for Southwest Airlines and an important destination for corporate jets.

Westchester County Airport (HPN) climbed to fourth place from sixth last year with an increase to 32,994 flights in 2024—a rise of 0.3%. Located near wealthy New York suburbs and Fairfield County's opulent areas like Greenwich, it serves as a key gateway for private aviation.

Van Nuys Airport (VNY) rounds out the top five despite experiencing a decrease of 3% from last year with total flights at 32,229 in 2024. Situated in Los Angeles, it caters primarily to affluent individuals including celebrities traveling within Southern California.
