Air Transat has entered into an interline agreement with Air Europa, allowing the Canadian airline to provide seamless travel options from Canada to several popular destinations in Spain. This partnership will enhance connectivity between the two countries and strengthen Air Transat's presence in the Spanish market.

The collaboration enables Air Transat passengers to access cities such as Bilbao, Ibiza, A Coruña, Las Palmas Gran Canaria, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife North, and Vigo through Air Europa’s hub at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport. Data from Cirium’s Diio Mi airline planning tool indicates that Air Transat has scheduled up to four weekly flights between April and October.

Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer of Air Transat, emphasized the importance of this agreement: “Spain is an essential destination for North American travelers, and this collaboration with Air Europa strengthens our ties with the country while enhancing the overall travel experience.”

The interline agreement ensures single-ticket check-in for the entire journey, luggage transfer to final destinations, and protection against delays or cancellations. Tickets including these benefits have been available since February 12.

In June, according to Cirium’s Diio Mi data, Air Transat plans 15 weekly flights to four Spanish destinations originating from Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. These include Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, Barcelona-El Prat Airport, Madrid-Barajas Airport, and Valencia Airport. However, none of these are part of the new interline agreement with Air Europa.

Other Canadian airlines like Air Canada and WestJet also operate flights to Spain. In June alone, they collectively offer 44 weekly flights connecting Canada and Spain across the Atlantic Ocean.
