AviationTag, a German memorabilia company, has introduced its latest product for aviation enthusiasts: aircraft skin tags crafted from a former DHL Boeing 757 freighter. The tags, distinguished by their yellow color and the "distinctiveDHL Express logo," are now available for purchase on AviationTag's website. Each tag features detailed engravings of the aircraft type, registration, edition number, and size.

The limited edition run consists of 7,000 tags made from the skin of D-ALEW, a former DHL Boeing 757 freighter. These can be acquired for €39.95 ($41.86). Tobias Richter, CCO of AviationTag, commented: "At Aviationtag, every tag is a story brought to life. The D-ALEW Edition is a true piece of aviation history, from DHL's cargo fleet straight into the hands of our community."

This batch marks the third series produced by AviationTag using skins from Boeing 757 freighters formerly operated by DHL. Previous runs included sold-out editions made from D-ALEK and D-ALEH skins.

Mustafa Tonguç, CEO of DHL Express Germany, stated: "Our long-standing collaboration with Aviationtag is now being expanded once again to include a sustainable upcycling product."

The aircraft used for these tags began its career as a passenger plane with British Airways in January 1988 under the registration G-BMRC and was later repainted in a special livery to support Team GB ahead of the Sydney Olympics. After retiring from British Airways service in 2002 and undergoing conversion to a cargo jet in 2003 under Barclays' ownership before transferring to DHL in August that year as D-ALEW. It was dismantled after being withdrawn from use in December 2017.
