The integration of ITA Airways into the Lufthansa Group is advancing, offering new benefits to frequent flyers. As of now, Miles & More members can earn Points for their frequent flyer status on ITA Airways flights in addition to miles. This includes Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points for Business Class travelers, providing more opportunities to achieve or maintain Lufthansa Group frequent flyer status. The Points system on ITA Airways aligns with that of other Lufthansa Group airlines and co-issuing Miles & More airline partners.

Since January 17, 2025, ITA Airways has been part of the Lufthansa Group, enhancing passenger benefits. Members of the Volare program from ITA Airways can also earn and redeem Volare Points on Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines flights. The ability to qualify for Lufthansa Group status on ITA Airways flights marks a significant step in this collaboration.

Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group, stated: "It is great to see how quickly the integration of ITA Airways into the Lufthansa Group is progressing." He emphasized loyalty as a key success factor in this strategic move. Caroline Drischel, Senior Vice President Customer Journey at Lufthansa Group, added: "I am delighted for the most loyal customers... For them, the new opportunity to earn Points for Lufthansa Group frequent flyer status is a great benefit."

To welcome ITA Airways into the group, Miles & More members have a special offer: flying with ITA between March 1 and April 15 will earn additional miles—2,000 for two continental flights and 4,000 for two intercontinental ones—regardless of travel class. Participants must activate this offer by March 31 via the Miles & More website.

Further steps are planned as part of this integration. From March 30 onward, over 100 flight connections will share flight numbers within the group’s network for easier combination. On this date too, passengers will gain access to approximately 130 lounges operated by the group and its partners during travels. Additionally, lounges from both sides will be accessible reciprocally starting then. By mid-2026, ITA Airways is expected to officially join Star Alliance.
