Southwest Airlines has announced a new daily nonstop redeye flight between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). The service is set to commence on August 5, 2025, offering travelers an overnight option between these two major hubs. The announcement was made on the social media platform X on February 3.

According to Southwest Airlines, this new LAX-MCO service is part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing connectivity between the West Coast and Florida. The redeye flight will enable passengers to maximize their travel time by arriving in Orlando early in the morning.

Orlando International Airport experienced significant growth in 2023, with over 57 million passengers passing through its terminals—a 15.1% increase from the previous year. This surge underscores the airport's importance as a key destination for both leisure and business travelers, according to Spectrum News 13.
