The Gulfstream G650ER has become a prominent figure in the world of corporate and private aviation, offering a combination of long-range capabilities and passenger comfort. This model first entered the market in late 2014, with deliveries beginning soon after. It was designed to meet the needs of business leaders, governments, and private owners requiring intercontinental travel.

The G650ER's production spanned from the early 2010s until early 2025 when the final unit was completed. Christoph Thurnherr, Vice President Aircraft Management and Charter Sales, expressed satisfaction with the addition of another G650ER to their fleet: “We are very pleased to have added the second Gulfstream G650ER to our fleet and take pride in delivering a full range of VIP charter options, the highest level of service and equipment; and this particular aircraft supports this mission perfectly well.”

The US Air Force and US Navy utilize these jets as part of their C-37 fleet. The G650ER boasts an extended range made possible by additional fuel capacity within its existing wing structure. Rollie Vincent from JetNet iQ remarked on Gulfstream's achievement: “With the G650 and the follow-on G650ER, Gulfstream created the large ULR [Ultra long-range] segment.” He further noted that “with almost 600 jets in service today,” this family has firmly established itself among corporations, high-net-worth individuals, and governments needing a high-speed wide-cabin intercontinental jet.

Key features contributing to its popularity include its ability to fly up to 7,500 nautical miles without refueling. Its Rolls-Royce BR725 engines allow for rapid climb rates and efficient cruising speeds up to 51,000 ft. The cabin offers reduced noise levels due to modern insulation techniques while maintaining lower cabin altitude for less fatigue on passengers.

Gulfstream's signature oval windows provide ample natural light inside the aircraft. The advanced avionics system includes an Enhanced Vision System (EVS) that improves situational awareness for pilots. Following updates in 2023 with HoneywellBlock 3 upgrades, Mark Burns stated: “The new features provide [G650/G650ER] operators even more tools that help pilots make informed safety decisions during all phases of flight.”

In December 2024, Qatar Airways announced plans to introduce Starlink Wi-Fi access across their executive jet fleet. Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer emphasized this would set a new "benchmark" in business aviation.

Overall, each feature from range to quiet cabins contributes significantly towards making this aircraft an industry favorite worldwide.
