This marks the first time Newark has had flights to Dominica, with United joining American Airlines as the second U.S. carrier offering routes from the mainland.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) started flights from Tokyo Haneda to Istanbul on February 12. The service is initially offered three times a week using a Boeing 787-8 but will increase to daily by next winter. ANA's European network now includes nine routes following recent inaugurations of services to Milan and Stockholm.

Southwest Airlines has introduced its first red-eye flights after upgrading its reservation system in 2017. The inaugural overnight services began on February 13, connecting cities like Los Angeles and Las Vegas with destinations such as Baltimore and Orlando.
