United Airlines is set to enhance its service between Denver International Airport and Syracuse Hancock International Airport by adding a second daily flight this summer. The airline currently operates one daily flight on this route, with the new schedule aiming to double the connectivity.

The existing service departs Syracuse at around 8:00 AM Eastern Time, arriving in Denver just before 10:00 AM local time. The return journey leaves Denver at 6:00 PM, reaching Syracuse by 11:00 PM. The additional service will introduce an inbound flight departing Denver at approximately 9:40 AM and arriving in Syracuse shortly after 3:00 PM. Additionally, there will be an outbound flight leaving Syracuse at 4:15 PM and landing in Denver just after 6:00 PM.

Jason Terreri, Executive Director of the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA), expressed his enthusiasm for the increased flights, stating, "Increased connectivity to and through Denver is a great addition for all our travelers, but especially for our semiconductor industry travelers. The twice daily service provides convenient one-stop options into Boise, ID and the Bay Area."

Terreri also acknowledged the support from elected officials like Minority Leader Chuck Schumer who have advocated for this enhanced service. He emphasized that such developments ensure Central New York remains a leader in chip manufacturing.

United Airlines' network from Syracuse includes connections to Newark Liberty International Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, and Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Other airlines operating out of Syracuse offer flights to various destinations across the United States.

In terms of passenger traffic, more than three million people passed through Syracuse Airport in 2024—a record-breaking year despite Southwest Airlines ceasing operations there in August of that year. Terreri commented on this achievement saying it signals strong market demand and reinforces SYR as a preferred airport choice for the region.

There are also reports about United potentially relocating its headquarters from Chicago to Denver. While no official announcement has been made by United regarding this move, speculation arose when land purchased by United in Denver appeared larger than necessary for their planned satellite pilot training facility.
