The Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas, located near San Diego, has transitioned to an adults-only policy as of February 14. The resort, known for its oceanfront location and luxury amenities, aims to enhance the serene atmosphere by focusing on relaxation and rejuvenation.

In a statement, the resort explained that the shift is intended to "further elevate the serene ambience of this oceanfront enclave." The change allows guests to enjoy wellness offerings such as treatments at Spa Alila inspired by the Indigenous Kumeyaay people and a sauna experience with a cold plunge.

Richard Sorensen, the general manager of Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas, stated, "As we transition to an adults-only experience, we're excited to introduce new programming tailored specifically for our adult guests' desire for relaxation, connection and adventure." He highlighted plans for curated wellness retreats and elevated dining experiences aimed at helping guests unwind in the oceanfront setting.

The Alila Journeys program offers various activities like biking along the coast on Electra Go! bikes, open-air biplane rides, surfing lessons, and exploration of La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve. Guests can also book rooms with outdoor gas fire pits for added relaxation.

This move aligns Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas with other adults-only World of Hyatt resorts such as Alila Ventana Big Sur and Alila Napa Valley. Later this year, Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya in Mexico will reopen as Alila Mayakoba.
