Cathay Pacific's inflight entertainment (IFE) system has been recognized with two prestigious design awards: the German Design Award 2025 and the Red Dot Award 2024. The airline was named a Gold winner in the "Excellent Communications Design – Interactive User Experience" category of the German Design Award and also won the Red Dot Award for Brands & Communication Design – User Interface Design.

Vivian Lo, Cathay General Manager Customer Experience and Design, expressed gratitude for these honors, stating: “We are incredibly honoured and humbled to be presented with two of the most internationally acclaimed awards in the Design arena, which serve as a further acknowledgement of our steadfast commitment to delivering world-class experiences to our customers." She highlighted that their IFE system, developed with Reaktor, focuses on human-centric design supported by innovation and customer comfort.

Michael Holler, Vice President at Reaktor Aero, commented on their collaboration with Cathay Pacific: “The innovative IFE user experience/user interface that Reaktor has designed and developed together with Cathay Pacific is truly state-of-the-art.” He emphasized that being recognized by such prestigious awards is a significant achievement.

Cathay Pacific's IFE system emphasizes visual harmony, intuitive interaction, and accessibility. It integrates cabin technology with seating arrangements to enhance passenger control over their travel environment. Features include My Journey for flight tracking integrated with entertainment options and Bluetooth pairing capabilities for headphones. In Business class aboard retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, passengers can use interactive seat controls offering modes like Relax, Work, and Sleep.

The German Design Award highlights innovation in design through an international jury's evaluation process. Cathay Pacific's win acknowledges its seamless integration of cutting-edge design across various screen types while maintaining usability. The jury praised its consistency and user-friendliness.

The Red Dot Award celebrates achievements in communication design. Cathay Pacific’s IFE was noted for combining advanced technology with a minimalist interface allowing customization options.

These recognitions follow other recent accolades from TheDesignAir Awards 2024 where Cathay Pacific was named Design Airline of the Year in Asia among other honors.
