Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has introduced a new digital tool called the Collaborative Shipping Tool in Indonesia. This tool aims to simplify the import process for customers by facilitating smooth collaboration during the creation of Airway Bills (AWB) between importers and shippers, thereby enhancing overall efficiency in global shipments.

Global commodity trade is expected to rise by 3%, with imports in Asia projected to increase by 5.1% in 2025. A study by the International Trade Center highlights key challenges faced by importers worldwide, such as pickup failures and lack of shipment visibility. These inefficiencies directly impact business operations, underscoring the need for digital solutions like the Collaborative Shipping Tool. The tool allows importers to share AWB creation processes directly with shippers, ensuring shipment details are confirmed and pickups are scheduled according to availability. This collaborative feature is designed to improve pickup success rates, ensuring greater efficiency in the import process.

He added that through this tool, FedEx is committed to helping customers and businesses navigate international trade complexities easily.

The main benefits of the Collaborative Shipping Tool include seamless collaboration and increased flexibility for importers who can now share AWB creation with shippers, real-time visibility into pickup processes for better transparency and control over shipping activities, and an enhanced user experience making importing easier and more efficient.

The tool is available to all FedEx import customers across Asia Pacific, Europe, the United States, Canada, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa.
