Marriott has announced that Trailborn, a collection of nature-focused hotels, will soon join its loyalty program, Marriott Bonvoy. This integration follows the update of Marriott Bonvoy's terms and conditions to accommodate the new partnership.

Trailborn describes its properties as "boutique hotels in extraordinary outdoor destinations," located near popular sites such as Rocky Mountain National Park and the Grand Canyon. The current Trailborn portfolio includes 559 rooms across several locations: Estes Park, Colorado; Highlands, North Carolina; Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina; Williams, Arizona; and an upcoming property in Mendocino, California.

Marriott stated that Trailborn would become part of "Marriott's planned outdoor-focused collection" with integration into its system expected in 2025. Marriott Bonvoy members will earn 10 base points per dollar spent when booking through approved channels.

Additional benefits for Marriott Bonvoy members at Trailborn properties include complimentary internet access and various elite member perks. However, certain amenities like guaranteed lounge access and nightly upgrade awards are not included.

The specific dates for when these properties will be bookable through Marriott Bonvoy remain unspecified. Currently, only Trailborn Highlands is slated to open in April this year.

This move is part of a broader trend where major hotel chains are partnering with smaller outdoors-focused brands. On the same day as the Trailborn announcement, Marriott also acquired Postcard Cabins. Hilton has partnered with AutoCamp for Airstream stays, while Hyatt added Under Canvas to its offerings.

These partnerships provide more opportunities for travelers to visit national parks while enjoying comfortable accommodations.
