Wheels Up, a private jet service provider based in New York City, continues to maintain its global presence through strategic initiatives and partnerships. Founded in 2013 by Kenny Dichter, the company offers charter and membership options for private flying, enabling travel to numerous destinations worldwide. The company emphasizes passenger safety, flexibility, and operational excellence.

The Wheels Up mobile application facilitates easy booking and management of flights, providing access to a marketplace of over 1,500 private aircraft. Customers can earn rewards with every flight booked through the platform. According to Wheels Up, “Easily search for and book private aircraft, request quotes, stay updated on flights, and manage preferences through the Wheels Up app or website. Our 24/7/365 aviation experts support you from booking through the day of flight.”

Delta Air Lines holds a 20% share in Wheels Up, which enhances customer value by allowing them to earn Delta's SkyMiles Medallion Status based on qualifying spend with Wheels Up. The company states that “Our partnership with Delta provides Wheels Up charter customers with value that is unmatched elsewhere within the aviation industry.”

The membership program offered by Wheels Up guarantees aircraft availability within the continental United States and Europe. Memberships are available for individuals starting at $100,000 and for enterprises starting at $250,000. Members benefit from competitive dynamic rates and price protection during peak demand periods. As stated by Wheels Up: “As a member, take advantage of competitive dynamic rates by comparing travel dates, times, and aircraft types, ensuring you secure the best value for your private flight.”

Wheels Up operates various categories of private jets ranging from light jets suitable for short-to-medium range flights to extended long-range jets capable of accommodating more than 20 passengers on ultra-long-range flights.

Despite financial challenges that have affected operations in recent years, Wheels Up has managed to secure strong partnerships like that with Delta Air Lines. The company's market strategy focuses on non-hub areas where commercial airlines are less effective.

In its early stages, Wheels Up acquired over 100 Beechcraft King Air 350i turboprops valued at $1.4 billion to serve diverse markets effectively. The fleet has since expanded to include additional King Air aircraft and refurbished Cessna Citation jets.

The company aims to make private flying more affordable through various partnerships and programs such as Wheel Up Connect launched in 2018.
