JetBlue Vacations has announced a partnership with WeatherPromise to offer rain protection for trips booked through the airline's vacation portal. This new coverage will reimburse travelers if their destination experiences significant rainfall, allowing them to proceed with their trip and receive a refund.
WeatherPromise defines "excessive rain" based on various factors such as destination, trip length, and historical weather data. The company uses satellite imagery, weather stations, and radar to monitor conditions in real-time at travel destinations. The reimbursement process is automatic, requiring no paperwork from the traveler.
According to JetBlue's Jamie Perry, "Travel should be exciting, not stressful, and our partnership with WeatherPromise is another way we're making that a reality." He added that this initiative ensures customers can enjoy their vacations without worrying about weather disruptions.
