Emirates and Garuda Indonesia have expanded their partnership to offer reciprocal loyalty benefits to members of their respective programs, Emirates Skywards and GarudaMiles. The two carriers, which initiated a codeshare agreement in 2022, announced the enhanced collaboration on the sidelines of Aviation Festival Asia 2025.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, and Rahmaniar, Miles & Ancillary Group Head at Garuda Indonesia.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said: “At Emirates Skywards, we’re always exploring new ways to offer more choice, value, and opportunities for our members. Our exciting new partnership with Garuda Indonesia will bring significant benefits to both Skywards and GarudaMiles members. ”

Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan, President & CEO of Garuda Indonesia, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to present this enhanced value partnership for both Garuda Indonesia and Emirates loyal passengers. ”

Under the new agreement, members of both loyalty programs will be able to earn and redeem miles across an expanded network of destinations. This includes earning up to 1 Skywards Mile per mile flown in Economy Class with Garuda Indonesia and redeeming miles for travel on various classes starting at 8,000 Miles.

Emirates currently operates double daily flights to Jakarta and Bali using its A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. The expanded partnership aims to provide seamless connectivity across multiple regions including the Americas, Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

Emirates Skywards boasts over 34 million members worldwide across four tiers of membership: Blue, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Members can earn miles through various partners such as hotels and car rentals besides airlines.

The loyalty program has received numerous accolades recently including ‘Best Earning and Redemption Ability’ at the 2023 Frequent Traveler Awards.
