Dassault private jets | Official Website

Dassault Aviation, a renowned French manufacturer of military aircraft and business jets, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1929 by Marcel Bloch as Societe des Avions Marcel Bloch. The company underwent several name changes, becoming Avions Marcel Dassault on January 20, 1947. While widely recognized for producing significant French fighter jets like the Dassault Rafale, the company also boasts a robust private jet manufacturing division rooted in its legacy of civilian aircraft production.

In 1971, Dassault acquired Breguet Aviation, forming Avions Marcel Dassault- Breguet Aviation. It was renamed Dassault Aviation in 1990 and became a subsidiary of the Dassault Group. Under the leadership of Eric Trappier since January 9, 2013, the company has overseen multiple private jet development programs.

The growth trajectory of Dassault Aviation began with pioneering different aircraft designs during the early days of aviation. Marcel Bloch played a pivotal role in this development with his innovative designs. By 1935, Bloch had partnered with Henry Potez to acquire Societe Aerienne Bordelaise (SAB), strengthening their position within the planemaking market. However, nationalization by the French government in 1936 and subsequent disruptions caused by Nazi occupation affected operations significantly.

During World War II, Marcel Bloch was imprisoned but continued designing iconic aircraft after his liberation in April 1945. The company restructured on November 10, 1945, adopting the name Societe des Avions Marcel Dassault in honor of Bloch's brother Darius Paul Dassault.

Post-World War II saw rapid growth for Dassault Aviation through successful military aircraft developments incorporating advanced technologies. The Cold War era increased demand for modern military jets which led to introductions like the Mystere jet fighter and later variants such as Mirage III that gained global recognition for their performance and reliability.

In response to strategic industry shifts encouraged by the French government during mid-1960s towards specific market sectors; Dassault focused on combat fighters and business jets following an unsuccessful attempt at commercial jet manufacturing.

Dassault entered private jet manufacturing with its Falcon series amidst a thriving business aviation market dominated by players like Gulfstream and Bombardier. Their first private jet launch was the twin-engine Dassault Falcon 20.The success paved way for other models including Falcon 10 and Falcon 50.In...1981,Dassault established its subsidiary,Dassualt Systemes,to develop computer-aided design(CAD)software critical for advanced business aircraft design. This innovation enabled rapid development of models such as Falcon900,Falcon2000,and notably,Falcon7X featuring fly-by-wire technology releasedin2005.Falcon6X introducedin2024 represents latest advancements offering state-of-the-art technology.

Throughout early21st century,Dassualt Aviation solidified leadership high-tech business jet manufacturing applying lessons from military counterparts while maintaining excellence luxury reputation making ownership status symbol especially Europe.Simultaneously service entry Rafale1988 proved continued prowess building impressive fighter jets serving principal multirole combat aircraft French Air Force Navy.Supportive investments included significant share transfers from Government2000 Aerospatiale(later Airbus subdivision).Today,Dassualt remains global leader both military-business aviation competing manufacturers Embraer Bombardier Gulfstream retaining largest prominent dedicated private jets manufacturer Europe demonstrating commitment safety innovation meeting market needs prioritizing customer demands.
