Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, has announced the opening of a new warehouse-office facility in Vilnius amid robust international trade aspirations among Lithuanian businesses. This strategic move aims to support local companies in their quest for new markets by providing essential e-commerce and logistics tools.

The newly established facility spans nearly 3,700 square meters, comprising a 2,500 m² warehouse and approximately 1,200 m² of office space. Equipped with an advanced sorting system, the warehouse features three gates for linehaul vehicles, three van gates (including one with ground-level access), and forty gates for courier vehicles. This infrastructure ensures efficient handling of both current and future shipment volumes.

Incorporating elements that enhance workplace comfort and energy efficiency, the building boasts best-in-class insulation and infrastructure for charging electric vehicles.

Strategically located near Vilnius' western exit, the facility offers direct connections to FedEx operations in Kaunas and Warsaw, improving access to the company's European Road Network . It benefits from daily flights operated from Kaunas to FedEx's major hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle, ensuring swift transport solutions to global markets.

The opening of this facility coincides with Lithuania's economic growth, particularly in the e-commerce sector. The FedEx investment aims to bolster local firms by offering improved cross- border shipping capabilities with attractive delivery times and smooth customs clearance.

Services like FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP), launched in Lithuania in [2022], provide reliable, timely, and cost-effective shipping solutions. FICP offers delivery to over [195] countries and territories designed for B2C and D2C businesses. Firms can benefit from customs clearance support while customers enjoy package tracking capabilities along with simplified returns process.

This development is part of FedEx's broader investment program across Central- Eastern Europe which has seen construction or expansion of [17] facilities across six countries recently strengthening logistical efficiency through innovation.
