Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's largest airline and one of the world's fastest-growing airline brands, has announced the commencement of a new passenger flight service to Porto, Portugal, effective July 2, 2025. This new service will include a single stop via Madrid, Spain. The introduction of this flight aims at offering travel options and enhancing seamless connectivity for passengers in the area, furthering Ethiopian Airlines' regional expansion across Europe.

The new flight will operate four times a week with the B787 Dreamliner according to the following schedule:

Flight ET740 will depart from Addis Ababa on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 23:10, arriving in Madrid at 05:55 the next day. It will then depart from Madrid on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 06:55, arriving in Porto at 07:15.

Flight ET741 will depart from Porto on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 19:55 arriving in Madrid at 21:10. It will then depart from Madrid at 23:10, arriving in Addis Ababa at 07:25 the next day.

This new route underscores our commitment to providing our passengers with more travel options and seamless connectivity. "

Ethiopian Airlines has been providing flight services to Lisbon through codeshare flights via London, Milan, and other nearby cities. Currently, Ethiopian Airlines operates approximately140 weekly passenger flights across Europe to22 destinations. Additionally,the airline serves eight cargo destinations in Europe.With this addition,Ethiopian reinforces its position in theregion while fostering stronger ties between theregions beyond.
