Delta Air Lines and Junior Achievement Africa (JA Africa) have awarded 12 young female leaders scholarships to attend the Delta Girls LEAD! Camp in Accra, Ghana. The initiative aims to enhance their professional and personal leadership skills.

The scholarships were conferred during the National Company of the Year competition last November.

Recipients will receive an all-expenses-paid scholarship to join 45 other young female leaders from Ghana, South Africa, and Nigeria at the second annual Delta Girls LEAD! Camp next month.

“Partnering with JA Africa for the Girls LEAD! initiative demonstrates Delta’s devotion to opening doors for the next generation of female leaders to help them turn their potential into lasting impact,” Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines, said. “We are honored to invest in them by providing the tools and confidence they need to excel in leadership and business. ”

“Delta’s ongoing commitment is invaluable as we work together to propel Africa’s future leaders to success while challenging societal norms," Simi Nwogugu, President and CEO of JA Africa, said.

This partnership between Delta Air Lines and JA Africa underscores their commitment to investing in communities where they operate. It aims at ensuring a better future through sustainable development efforts undertaken today.
