A popular San Antonio resort will soon debut a Texas-size beachfront complete with swimming, water sports, and beach cabanas—entirely human-made.

Set to open in September, the new 2.2-acre Crystal Lagoon will be part of the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, the hotel told The Points Guy. This addition aims to make the property feel more like a tropical getaway than a landlocked city resort. When complete, the lagoon will feature a white-sand beach, plenty of lounge chairs, and a new poolside food-and-beverage venue.

The new lagoon will join the hotel's existing water activities, including multiple pools, one of the best lazy rivers in the country, a two-story waterslide, and a FlowRider wave machine.

"We are now thrilled to embark on an exciting new chapter that will redefine the resort experience here in Central Texas," Steven J. Smith, general manager of the resort said in a statement shared with TPG. "Guests will find a unique world-class experience honoring the timelessness of our Texas hospitality and charm. "

To maximize use of the new lagoon, there are plans for constructing a 5,600- square-foot indoor-outdoor event venue overlooking the water. Surrounded by live oaks and featuring vaulted ceilings and exposed wood beams, this building will host weddings, corporate events, and more.

Additionally, Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa plans to open five new four-bedroom villas this spring. Each villa will span over 2,300 square feet with fully equipped kitchens and outdoor lounges with fire pits. VIP amenities include access to nearby spa's private pool.

Each villa will be named after area rivers—Guadalupe Nueces Brazos San Saba Pecos—and feature luxurious touches like soaking tubs in each ensuite bathroom along with a dedicated villa host team available round-the-clock plus golf cart access for getting around.

Rates for these villas start at $2,800 per night.

The hotel is located about twenty minutes from San Antonio's River Walk and is renowned as one of Texas' best resorts due to its vast array of amenities which include an impressive27-hole championship golf course multiple dining options extensive family-friendly fun offerings among others
