Alaska Airlines’ flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), have ratified a new three-year contract that includes significant improvements such as increased pay, greater flexibility, and better benefits.

More than 90% of Alaska flight attendants voted, and the agreement passed by 95%, marking a major milestone for Alaska Airlines and reflecting the essential role of flight attendants in ensuring safety and operational excellence.

The new contract is the eighth ratified labor agreement between an Alaska Air Group company and one of its represented workgroups in the last three years. It aims to improve wages, quality of life, and support the company’s long-term success. Alaska Air Group said it is on a journey to transform its business, with flight attendants being critical to its vision of creating a remarkable travel experience for guests.

Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Airlines, said: “One of the many reasons our guests choose to fly Alaska is our flight attendants and the warm welcome, fantastic service and commitment to safety they provide onboard. I’m glad to have them working under a new contract that values their contributions to Alaska. ” He also expressed gratitude towards AFA colleagues who negotiated on behalf of the flight attendants.

Jeff Peterson, President of AFA Alaska Master Executive Council (MEC), said: “This agreement marks a major milestone for Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants. It reflects their essential role in ensuring both safety and operational excellence. ” He added that it would immediately improve their lives while set- ting a foundation for future negotiations related to the merger between Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.

Effective March 2, 2025, the new contract includes increased pay measures such as boarding pay and market rate adjustments. It also maintains industry-lead- ing work rules with a short duty day length alongside Southwest Airlines. Ad- ditional improvements cover scheduling enhancements and caps on insurance pre- miums.

The previous contract became amendable in December2022; however contracts within-the airline industry remain effective until anew agreementisratified once they become amendable
