FedEx introduces tool to enhance import process and logistics efficiency

HONG KONG, February 20, 2025 - Federal Express Corporation, one of the world's largest express transportation companies, announced the introduction of the Collaborative Shipping Tool. This innovative digital tool enables importers and shippers to collaborate seamlessly when creating Air Waybills (AWB), simplifying customers' import processes and enhancing overall efficiency in global cargo transportation.

Global merchandise trade volume is projected to grow by 3% in 2025, with Asian imports expected to increase by 5.1%. Research from the International Trade Centre highlights that failed pick-ups and lack of transport visibility are among the major challenges faced by importers worldwide. These inefficiencies directly impact business operations, underscoring the need for digital freight solutions like the Collaborative Shipping Tool.

The shipping tool allows importers to share the AWB creation process with shippers, enabling them to confirm transport details and schedule pick-up times based on shipment readiness. This collaborative feature aims to improve pick- up success rates and ensure a more efficient import process.
