From March 5 onwards, customers traveling in Economy and Premium Economy Class on SWISS long-haul flights will enjoy a new on-board experience aimed at all their senses. The airline’s new ‘SWISS Senses’ concept promises a revamped long-haul air travel experience that includes product innovations, new service features, and a redesigned cabin interior. In an initial step, SWISS Senses brings an expanded inflight food and beverage offer together with new-look comfort features such as bedding items and a new signature fragrance to enhance the customer’s air travel experience.

As part of its new ‘SWISS Senses’ inflight product concept, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will provide its Economy Class customers with a new long-haul air travel experience from March 5 onwards. The innovations extend to the full on-board offer including the inflight service, food and drink selection, and various comfort items. In addition to newly devised meals and an expanded beverage range, the new concept also provides amenities to further enhance guests’ comfort and enjoyment aloft. SWISS’s Premium Economy Class customers will also benefit from these innovations due to the company’s extensive investment in both travel classes.

“These new product and service highlights will tangibly enhance the air travel experience for our Economy Class and our Premium Economy Class guests,” said SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach. “Taken together, they represent one of the biggest service investments in the history of our company. And they bring us a further step forward in providing our customers with a quality air travel experience that is hallmarked by both Swissness and devotion to detail. ”

Once their flight has reached cruising altitude, SWISS Economy and SWISS Premium Economy guests will be served a welcome aperitif accompanied by a fine Sbrinz cheese appetizer as part of Switzerland’s ‘apéro’ culture. Further culinary enjoyment aloft is offered by several new main-meal creations. The upgraded pre-landing meal will now be served on a tray or in a re-usable bento box.

On some flights, crews will offer additional food between meals; all guests will have access to an extended range of snacks. SWISS will also offer a broader selection of beverages including a new Swiss red wine and typical Swiss soft drinks such as Rivella. All SWISS Economy meals will be served on modern black re-usable tableware.

‘SWISS Senses’ is designed to appeal to all various senses. On the sense-of- smell front, customers can sample the signature fragrance Alpine Valley, created specifically for SWISS in collaboration with Zurich-based Soeder company; it will be available in lavatories in soap, hand lotion, and facial spray form. Alpine Valley combines aromatic larch with fresh citrus notes and subtle hints of herbs bringing little Swiss alpine nature aloft.

Customers can look forward to restful sleep thanks to new bedding with soft pillows and blankets made entirely from recycled materials which fit excellently into future SWISS Senses cabin design.. Enhanced headphones are provided for quality audio experiences enabling guests full enjoyment out off their inflight entertainment.
