On March 3, two major carriers announced three new one-stop routes, enhancing connectivity in Southeast Asia.

Turkish Airlines revealed its new flight to Phnom Penh via Bangkok, commencing on December 10. This makes Turkish Airlines the only European operator flying to Cambodia, with its hub located on the European side of the Bosphorus. The initial roundtrip services will use Boeing 777-300ER aircraft before switching to Airbus A330-300 as standard.

The route is expected to cater primarily to diaspora communities and tourists from countries like France, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. However, it faces competition from Emirates and Qatar Airways already serving Phnom Penh, with Etihad launching flights in October.
