In 2024, several states in the United States experienced minimal private jet traffic. According to Private Jet Card Comparisons, Delaware, Vermont, Rhode Island, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, North Dakota, Maryland, and Mississippi had the lowest traffic. Conversely, Florida, Texas, and California accounted for over 30% of the country's private jet traffic.

The data reveals significant declines in private jet air traffic for West Virginia (-26.49%), Mississippi (-11.03%), and New Hampshire (-5.75%). Smaller decreases were observed in Delaware (-2.70%), Vermont (-2.58%), and Connecticut (-0.83%). Notably, North Dakota saw an increase of 3.08%.

Combined, these ten states contributed only 4.2% to the total U.S. private jet traffic.

Delaware hosts over 23 million visitors annually for tourism and business, contributing $4.7 billion to its GDP and creating more than 55,000 jobs. Major attractions include Rehoboth Beach and Winterthur Museum Garden & Library; however, tourism represents a small fraction of employment compared to sectors like government and banking.

Vermont:

With a population of around 650000 people Vermont lacks amenities that attract private jet clients despite popular destinations like Montpellier with its vibrant arts scene or Stowe known for winter sports activities.

Rhode Island:

Home to Newport—a luxurious destination famous for its yacht harbor—Rhode Island still sees low private jet traffic as many clients prefer nearby cities such as New York City.

West Virginia:

The state's economy relies on coal mining manufacturing and agriculture which does not necessitate significant private aviation services Major employers include The West Virginia University Health System (3 .5%) Walmart (2 %) Charleston Area Medical Center (1 %)

New Hampshire:

A wealthy state with a median household income approximating $74 ,000 New Hampshire still records low private jet usage despite having industries such as banking technology Top employing sectors include Trade Transportation & Utilities (20 % ) Educational Health Services(17 .8 % ) Professional Business Services(14 % )
