Southwest Airlines has relocated from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The move, effective March 4, 2025, will not alter the airline's overall presence at the airport but will bring some changes for passengers. Other carriers are expected to transition to Terminal 1 by the end of the month.

According to a notice from the airport, Southwest Airlines began operating out of T2 with its first flight on March 4. Check-in, bag check, and baggage claim services have all shifted to Terminal 2. The airline confirmed that this move was made at the airport's request.

As reported by SFGATE, Southwest will maintain its use of five gates in T2 as it did in T1. However, passengers might experience a shorter walk from the ticket counter to the gates. Southwest will utilize Gates D: 1, 3, 4, 6, and 7.
