Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced the launch of Picture Proof of Delivery (PPOD) for express residential deliveries in mainland China, where signatures upon delivery are not required. This initiative aims to digitize services and enhance customer experience while supporting e-commerce growth in the region.

With recipient authorization, FedEx couriers can deliver parcels to customers' doorsteps and take a real-time photo showing its exact position. Recipients can view the photo of successful delivery via FedEx website Tracking, Advanced Tracking, and FedEx WeChat official account without needing enrollment or login.

In 2024, China's cross-border e-commerce import and export reached RMB 2.63 trillion, representing a 10.8% year-on-year increase 1. With consumers not always home to receive their deliveries, the no-signature-required option allows for packages to still be delivered. Now, a simple photograph brings peace of mind to e-commerce merchants and consumers.
