Air Canada has made minor adjustments to its summer network, including the planned resumption of flights to Tel Aviv. As reported by AeroRoutes and confirmed by data from aviation analytics company Cirium’s Diio Mi airline planning tool, Air Canada has scheduled flights to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV).

The schedule update follows the airline’s previous announcement confirming its planned return to Israel. In June, Air Canada will resume flying to Tel Aviv from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) with a Boeing 787-8, offering four weekly flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

In August, the Canadian carrier will begin services from Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Israel’s main gateway. While Cirium’s Diio Mi shows that the airline has planned four weekly flights on this route in August, an earlier statement indicated that flights between Montreal and Tel Aviv would only be operated once per week.

“In preparation, Air Canada has undertaken extensive safety and security reviews, including consultations with Canadian and foreign government authorities, unions representing its flight crews, and security experts,” said a spokesperson for the airline.

For September and October, Air Canada has filed only a single 787-8 flight per week from Montreal to Tel Aviv. This could change but might also suggest that flights connecting the two cities will follow a similar pattern as before Israel’s conflict with Hamas which began on October 7, 2023.

Before the Israeli-Hamas war escalated regional tensions further involving Hezbollah into the conflict; according to Cirium’s Diio Mi data; Air Canada had daily flights with the 777-300ER between Toronto and Tel Aviv in August 2023 complemented by four weekly flights from Montreal operated by a 787-9.

Now with both routes set for operation using Boeing's smaller capacity model - -the Dreamliner or B787--8s--the carrier is expectedly offering fewer seats: approximately255 seats per departure according to Cirium''s data analysis

On Air Canada's travel agency website flexible booking policies remain valid regarding trips towards/from Israel extending their 'Goodwill Policy' effective since January3rd offering re-booking/refund options within specific dates

"As market conditions warrant," added another representative "it intends- further increase service frequencies future."
