JetBlue Airways has revealed an interior transformation plan for Terminal 5 at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). JetBlue's renewed flagship Terminal 5, with the first new concessions, is expected to open throughout 2025, and the final improvements will be completed by the end of 2026.

The news comes as the New York-based airline, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Fraport USA aim to "transform the customer experience" as part of a $19 billion overhaul of JFK airport.

After unveiling the new interior transformation plan, JetBlue President Marty St. George said that the refreshed terminal would capture and bring the energy of New York while keeping it "unmistakably JetBlue." Terminal 5 at JFK will be inspired by the city's iconic parks and will showcase locally-owned businesses, featuring well-known brands loved by both New Yorkers and visitors worldwide.

Terminal 5 will feature more than 40 new concessions, enhanced amenities, art installations, and a redesigned central concourse. The new concessions will also include more than 18 new local food and beverage options. Additionally, Terminal 5 will feature an art collection of over 30 works by New York-based artists.

Commenting on the Terminal 5 interior transformation plan at JFK airport, Marty St. George said:

"Now, in support of the Port Authority's plan to redevelop JFK, we look forward to further enhancing the experience for all who travel through this world-class terminal. This isn't just about new dining and shopping—it's about bringing the energy of New York into the terminal. From local flavors to spaces that capture the city we love, we're making T5 more uniquely New York while staying unmistakably JetBlue. "

The interior renderings of Terminal 5 showcase greenery, park benches, and art installations in the central concourse including one that resembles Jeff Koons' Balloon Dog. The redesigned central concourse will include space for pop-up events, interactive experiences, and live performances that showcase New York's famous culture.

Commenting on creating a uniquely New York sense of place at JFK, Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton said:

"JetBlue and Fraport's commitment to delivering world-class amenities and concessions to our customers aligns with the Port Authority's goal of transforming JFK into one of the world's great global gateways. Creating a uniquely New York sense of place at JFK through additions like iconic local concessions art and design will make this terminal a memorable part of our customer journey through our region.
