Frontier Airlines announced that starting in 2026, it will operate out of Terminal 6 (T6) at New York JFK Airport.

The T6 project is highly anticipated and is set to open in 2026 as an upgraded and modernized terminal that will include a new ground transportation center and an entirely new, simplified roadway network.

"Frontier Airlines is excited to continue expanding our operations at JFK, and we look forward to transitioning to the new, state-of-the-art Terminal 6 next year. There is no doubt our customers are going to enjoy the beautiful facilities, modern technology, and abundant amenities that T6 will offer," said Matthew Sattler, director of airport planning and facilities for Frontier Airlines.

JFK Millennium Partners (JPM) has been selected by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to build and operate JFK's T6. The terminal is a key component of the Port Authority's $19 billion transformation of JFK International Airport into a world-class gateway and will include two new terminals.

Frontier passengers can look forward to T6's digital-first boutique guest experience with a less than five-minute average walk from the TSA security checkpoint exit to all gates. Additional features include extensive biometric- enabled self-service bag drop facilities, 100,000 square feet of NYC-inspired shopping, dining, lounges, curated public art displays, sustainable operating features, and a premium guest experience throughout the terminal.

Currently under construction at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Terminal 6 is being developed in two phases with the first six gates opening in 2026 and construction completion expected by 2028. Features include ten gates--nine able to accommodate widebody aircraft--state-of-the-art automated baggage systems--customs/border control facilities--latest TSA screening technologies--one of the longest departure curbs at JFK--multiple airline lounges including a new arrivals lounge--new ground transportation center--curated collection of New York City-inspired artwork featuring local/international artists curated by Public Art Fund in partnership with JMP/Port Authority--sustainably-sourced building materials--rooftop solar power--energy-efficient systems/practices throughout terminal--sustainability certifications for LEED (silver/gold), Envision/SITES underway
