Icelandair's new topographic textile collection, announced on March 3, 2025, aims to bring the spirit of Iceland closer to its passengers. Previous textile ranges have incorporated simple lessons in the Icelandic language, while the latest collection draws inspiration from Iceland's mountainous landscape. These textiles have been donated to charities after their use.

The new collection is created in collaboration with WESSCO design company and features topographic illustrations of Iceland as seen from above. The abstract patterns formed by inviting curves and lines are designed to imbue the entire aircraft cabin with a touch of Iceland's natural features.

In addition to textiles, many items of onboard food packaging now represent Icelandic nature with specific data points and information about various areas. This effort aims to provide passengers with a complete Icelandic experience.

Icelandair emphasizes its commitment to sustainability through this collection. The Economy blanket and pillow are made from recycled PET (RPET), which reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 71% compared to virgin PET and requires 79% less energy to produce. RPET is cruelty-free, fully recyclable, lightweight, durable, and tear-resistant.

The airline has also eliminated plastic use for fresh Saga Premium duvets and blankets. An attached elastic band indicates that the duvet is unused.

Passengers can learn more about how Icelandair promotes Icelandic artists, nature, and culture through onboard music, menus, mood lighting, and other initiatives by reading The Spirit of Iceland blog post. Additionally, eco-

This initiative reflects Icelandair's ongoing dedication to reducing its environmental footprint while offering passengers an immersive introduction to Iceland starting from the moment they board a flight.
