Chase has announced a new incentive for referring friends to the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve. Existing cardholders can now earn 10,000 bonus points for each accepted applicant, with a maximum of 100,000 points per calendar year. Previously, the referral bonus was 15,000 points per applicant, capped at 75,000 points annually. Upgraded Points first reported this change.

According to TPG's March 2025 valuations, these points are worth $205 per approved applicant. Referrals can be made through a referral link accessible via Chase's referral page.

New applicants using a referral link can earn 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 within the first three months. This welcome bonus is valued at $1,230 based on current evaluations.

The $95-per-year Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is regarded as one of the top travel rewards cards for both beginners and experts, offering bonus points on categories like travel and dining. The more premium Chase Sapphire Reserve includes additional perks such as a $300 travel credit, Global Entry fee credit, and Priority Pass lounge access.

Both cards offer generous earning rates and valuable point redemption options, making them attractive long-term choices. Cardholders interested in referring friends or family can potentially earn up to 100,000 extra Ultimate Rewards points annually.

Chase has reduced the referral bonus to 10,000 points per individual referral but increased the annual limit to 100,000 points from the previous cap of 75,000. This adjustment allows cardholders to potentially earn an additional 25,000 points through referrals each year.
