Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), also known as Wold-Chamberlain Field, is a major joint civil-military public international airport serving the Twin Cities region of Minneapolis and Saint Paul in Minnesota. The facility is located around 10 miles from the downtown of both Minneapolis and Saint Paul. The airport spans more than 2,930 acres and is the busiest airport in the Upper Midwest.
The airport serves as a major commercial hub for multiple operators and a logistical hub for several major air cargo operators. It houses the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport Joint Air Reserve Station, supporting operations by both the Air Force Reserve Command and the Minnesota Air National Guard.
The economic impact of MSP on the greater Twin Cities region is significant, contributing an estimated $15.9 billion to its economy and supporting approximately 87,000 jobs. MSP is a major hub for Atlanta-based legacy carrier Delta Air Lines, which alongside its regional affiliates accounts for over 70% of passenger traffic at the airport.
