GE Aerospace has announced a $1 billion investment to expand its manufacturing efforts, aiming to hire 5,000 new employees in 2025 for engineering and manufacturing roles. The focus of this expansion will be on increasing capacity to produce engines, particularly the CFM LEAP.
This latest hiring initiative follows the addition of over 900 engineers and 1,000 manufacturing workers by GE Aerospace last year.
The company said that this new investment is almost twice last year's commitment. H. Lawrence Culp, Jr., Chairperson and CEO of GE Aerospace, emphasized the importance of this investment: "Investing in manufacturing and innovation is more critical than ever for the future of our industry and the communities where we operate. We are committed to helping our customers modernize and expand their fleets while scaling technologies that will truly define the future of flight. Together, this will keep the United States at the forefront of aerospace leadership. "
