Since entering service with Lufthansa in February 1968, the Boeing 737 has become a ubiquitous presence at airports worldwide. According to data from the US manufacturer, nearly 12,000 units have been produced across all variants to date, serving low-cost and full-service airlines as well as military and private users.

Boeing has produced four generations of its popular narrowbody family: the 737 Original (737-100 and 737-200), the 737 Classic (737-300, 737-400, and 737-500), the 737 Next Generation (NG) (737-600, 737-700, 737-800, and 737-900), and the newest iteration, the 737 MAX. The latter consists of four main variants and one sub-variant.

The smallest variant in the MAX family is the MAX 7, which first flew in March 2018. However, it has yet to enter commercial service due to various factors. Measuring at approximately116 feet and eight inches long (35.56 meters), it sits between its predecessors -700 and -800 models in size.

The Boeing MAX w features a typical two-class seating capacity for153 passengers (145 economy class seats plus eight first-class seats) with an exit limit set at172 seats maximum .
