Japan Airlines (JAL) and the Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH) have formalized a partnership to support the Hawaii-Japan Sister State & Sister City Summit. This collaboration, announced in a joint press release on March 7, aims to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Hawaii and Japan through enhanced exchange programs.

"For over 70 years, Japan Airlines has been connecting Hawaii and Japan," said Kaori Nishiharaguchi, Deputy Senior Vice President. "We are now excited to collaborate with JASH to further develop exchange programs between sister cities through our support of the Hawaii-Japan Sister State & Sister City Summit."

According to MauiNow.com, JAL will act as a liaison for Japanese municipalities, assisting JASH in coordinating summit activities. JASH Board Chair Karen Knudsen expressed that this partnership with JAL, a long-standing member of JASH, will "further enhance the Japan-Hawaii relationship" as the organization approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026.
