Heather Garboden, Chief Customer Officer of American Airlines, announced that as spring travel increases, customers will have access to new food and drink options both in-flight and at Admirals Club lounges. Garboden made this statement in a March 10 press release.

"As spring travel heats up, our customers are eager to see new food and drinks across our menus," said Garboden. "Whereas warm comfort foods like soups rule the skies in the fall and winter, the spring season has people craving fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as tried-and-true summer dishes like our new sliders and fries."

American Airlines is introducing regionalized menus and an updated beverage selection at Admirals Club lounges across the United States and Canada. In-flight offerings will include new breakfast entrees and the option to preorder sliders and fries after a successful test at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). Starting March 18, AAdvantage members can use miles to purchase food and beverages on eligible flights. These updates are part of the airline’s efforts to enhance customer dining experiences both in lounges and in the air.

Travel food blogger Matthew Klint reported that American Airlines served a satisfying dinner on a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles. He noted the short ribs with mac and cheese as a comforting and enjoyable meal, highlighting it as one of six preorder options available for First Class passengers. Klint remarked that the meal stood out as a positive in-flight dining experience.

According to American Airlines' website, Admirals Club is the airline's network of airport lounges, offering members and eligible travelers a comfortable space to relax before flights. Amenities typically include complimentary Wi-Fi, snacks, beverages, and dedicated customer service representatives. Additionally, Admirals Club memberships provide access to nearly 50 Admirals Club lounges and over 60 partner lounges worldwide. Travelers without a membership can purchase a One-Day Pass for $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles for single-day access. Members also enjoy access to partner lounges such as Alaska Airlines Lounges and Qantas Clubs.

In addition to food options, Admirals Club lounges will offer premium spirits along with new mixers and non-alcoholic beverages. These updates align with seasonal shifts in customer preferences, focusing on lighter and fresher flavors.

American Airlines is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, and is one of the world’s largest airlines by fleet size and passengers carried. The airline operates nearly 6,800 flights daily to more than 350 destinations across 60 countries.
