Captain Kate McCue, the first woman from the United States to take the helm of a cruise ship, will soon become the first person to captain a Four Seasons yacht.

Following her recent departure from Celebrity Cruises, where she worked for more than 20 years, McCue—who gained social media fame with reels highlighting life on board cruise ships—is set to take command of Four Seasons' first vessel, Four Seasons I. This was confirmed in an article posted on the Four Seasons Yachts website.

Known as much for her seafaring skills as for her love of Louboutin shoes and taking internet trolls to task, McCue has consistently been a passenger favorite and has in turn become a social media star. She has also been a staunch advocate for advancing more women to positions on the bridge (a cruise ship's control center).

True to form, she announced the move on her Instagram page Tuesday.

"A new build vessel is one thing," McCue said in the caption on her Instagram post. "A start-up with an incredible prototype vessel is a whole new opportunity to grow with an iconic brand like Four Seasons!"

Four Seasons I is the first ship for Four Seasons Yachts, a venture the Four Seasons brand—known for its high-end hotels and private jet services— announced back in 2022. On the lavish 190-passenger vessel, guests can expect accommodations ranging from 500 to 10,000 square feet (huge for cruise ship cabins), a 1:1 crew-to-passenger ratio (signifying a high level of onboard service), 11 bars and restaurants, and a spa.

The ship is slated to debut in early 2026, offering Caribbean and Mediterranean sailings to destinations that include St. Barts, Nevis, the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Barbados, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Curacao and Aruba in the Caribbean and Croatia, Gibraltar,
