Korean Air has introduced its refreshed corporate identity, featuring a modern take on its iconic Taegeuk symbol. The unveiling occurred at the airline’s headquarters hangar in Seoul during an exclusive event, Rising Night, attended by approximately 1,000 guests, including employees, industry leaders, and media representatives.

The newly redesigned deep blue Taegeuk symbol reflects Korean Air’s rich heritage while embracing a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The updated branding aligns with global minimalist design trends while preserving the airline’s distinct identity.

Accompanying the symbol, the refreshed “KOREAN AIR” logotype presents a refined look. Subtle brushstroke-inspired elements, smooth curves, and open connections create a modern interpretation of Korean elegance, reinforcing the airline’s national prestige.

A major highlight of the event was the reveal of Korean Air’s new aircraft livery. As the curtain lifted, a Boeing 787-10 featuring the fresh design was introduced. Registered as HL8515, the aircraft showcases the airline’s latest Prestige Suites 2.0 cabin interiors and is scheduled to enter service on March 12, operating between Seoul Incheon and Tokyo Narita.

The updated livery features a bold “KOREAN” logotype, symbolizing the airline’s confidence as South Korea’s flagship carrier. With an enlarged logo and symbol for greater visual impact, the design maintains balance while incorporating newly developed metallic-effect paint to enhance the airline’s premium image. The traditional cheatline has been replaced by a fluid, sweeping curve across the fuselage.

During the event, Walter Cho, Chairman and CEO of Hanjin Group and Korean Air, outlined the airline’s commitment to innovation and global connectivity.
