The Port of Seattle, the public agency overseeing various gateways in Seattle, including the city’s largest airport, has announced that Lance Lyttle, the Managing Director of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), will move to the East Coast and become the chief executive of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA).

On March 19, the Port of Seattle revealed that Lyttle was announced as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the GOAA, leaving the Pacific Northwest in April.

Stephen Metruck, the Executive Director of the Port of Seattle, remarked that Lyttle’s commitment to excellence and ambition changed the airport experience at Seattle-Tacoma, enabling the airport to become a four-star location as rated by SKYTRAX in 2022 and 2023. The rating agency also rated Seattle-Tacoma as the best airport in the United States for three consecutive years, Metruck added.

“Lyttle helped lead a grand transformation of SEA Airport that continues with the current Upgrade SEA capital improvement program,” said Metruck.

The Port of Seattle highlighted that under his leadership, Seattle-Tacoma had focused on several improvements to create a reliable, efficient, and world- class airport experience. Lyttle’s achievements included opening several major facilities at the airport, including the N Concourse modernization and International Arrivals facilities. Projects started under his tenure include the SEA Gateway project with Alaska Airlines and C Concourse Expansion plan.

Arif Ghouse, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Seattle- Tacoma will assume an interim role as Managing Director until a replacement is found for Lyttle.

During his last full year as Managing Director at Seattle-Tacoma,"Lyttle" contributed to record-breaking passenger volumes at this facility. On January 28,"the Port" announced traffic numbers reaching record levels beyond pre- pandemic figures."At that time,"Lyttle" noted,"Seattle-Tacoma" was one economic engine driving regional growth,"with affirming numbers showing it had not only recovered from pandemic impacts but also strengthened its position."

"The investments we've made and continue making are vital towards improving customer experience," said Lyttle.

In 2024,"Seattle-Tacoma" welcomed approximately fifty-two point six million passengers—a year-on-year improvement translating into three percent growth over twenty-nineteen figures when fifty-one point eight million travelers were recorded visiting this facility according to data provided by Cirium's Diio Mi airline planning tool between March through October airlines added nearly two- point-nine percent seats along with seven-point-one more capacity measured via available seat kilometers compared against same period previous year
