LATAM Airlines Group is reportedly planning to expand its route network by adding Fifth Freedom flights between Buenos Aires and Miami through its joint venture agreement with Delta Air Lines. According to a report by ch-aviation, the carrier aims to launch the new corridor by the end of 2025.

Fifth Freedom Flights are operated by an airline between two foreign countries, allowing the airline to carry passengers or cargo between those countries as long as the flight originates or ends in the airline's home country.

LATAM Airlines Group plans to launch a new fifth-freedom flight connecting Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini Airport (EZE) and Miami International Airport (MIA) in the United States, aiming to strengthen Argentina's integration into its partnership with Delta Air Lines.

Subject to approval from authorities, LATAM Airlines aims to begin a daily service by late 2025, building on its existing route from Santiago de Chile (SCL) to Buenos Aires (EZE).

In a statement to Ladevi, the airline's spokesperson said that the launch date has not been set, and as a result, the aircraft type for the route has yet to be decided. The route between Buenos Aires and Miami spans 3,828 nautical miles (7,091 km), while the remaining leg between Buenos Aires and Santiago covers 616 nautical miles (1,141 km).

Therefore, multiple aircraft types could be deployed on the route, including Airbus A321LR, Airbus A350, Boeing 777s, or Boeing 787 Dreamliner among other widebody aircraft.

Currently, LATAM Airlines Group operates a total of 345 aircraft at an average age of 12.1 years. The fleet comprises166 Airbus A320 family aircraft;63 Airbus A321 family aircraft;40 Airbus A319s;29 Boeing767-300s;27 Boeing787-9 Dreamliners;10 Boeing787-8 Dreamliners;and10 Boeing777-300ERs.
