Iberia, a member of the Oneworld alliance, will soon connect Orlando International Airport (MCO) with Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD). The new route is set to commence on October 26 and will operate four times a week using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

The decision to add Orlando to its U.S. route map comes as Iberia recognizes the city's appeal as "one of the top tourist destinations in the United States," home to attractions such as Disney World and the Orange County Convention Center. This move makes Orlando Iberia's 10th U.S. destination and its second in Florida after Miami International Airport (MIA).

With this addition, Iberia becomes the third International Airlines Group brand serving Orlando, joining Aer Lingus and British Airways. Aer Lingus currently offers flights from Manchester Airport (MAN) and Dublin Airport (DUB), while British Airways connects London Gatwick Airport (LGW) with MCO.

The introduction of this new route occurs amid concerns about potential impacts on travel demand due to President Donald Trump's foreign policy positions. Several European countries have updated their travel guidelines for visits to the U.S., although airlines like Lufthansa report stable demand, whereas Swiss has noted a decline in leisure bookings.

Despite these challenges, data from Cirium indicates that seat capacity between the U.S. and Europe is expected to rise by 4.5% during April through September compared to last year. Iberia plans a nearly 2% increase in available seats for its U.S.-Europe routes within this timeframe.

Here are the scheduled details for Iberia's upcoming service:

- MCO-MAD: Departs at 6:20 p.m., arriving at 7:55 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

- MAD-MCO: Departs at 11:30 a.m., arriving at 4:45 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
