The Emirates Group is set to relocate its data center to the world's largest solar-powered facility, Moro Hub, marking a significant shift in its technology infrastructure. The move aligns with the Group's growth plans and commitment to sustainability. Relocation is expected to commence in mid-2026.

The new data center will operate on clean energy, requiring 3,000 megawatts annually. This transition supports Dubai's ambitions in sustainable digital innovation as outlined by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). The agreement was signed by Michael Doersam, Chief Financial & Group Services Officer of Emirates Group, and Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman & Group CEO of Digital DEWA.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer stated that the initiative aligns with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. He emphasized the importance of this strategic move to "the world’s largest green solar-powered data centre at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park." He also highlighted how this partnership reinforces Dubai's leadership in sustainable aviation and digital transformation.

Michael Doersam commented on the partnership with Moro Hub as a pivotal development for their technology landscape. He noted that both organizations aim to position Dubai as a leader in technology, innovation, and sustainability. Transitioning operations to Moro Hub is seen as a step towards operational resilience and environmental responsibility.
