The Malaysian government has authorized a new search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, over a decade after its disappearance. This search will be conducted by Ocean Infinity, a Texas-based marine robotics company, which has already been surveying the southern Indian Ocean in preparation.

Ocean Infinity operates under a "no-find, no-fee" contract, meaning they will receive $70 million USD only if they locate the wreckage. The company had previously searched for MH370 in 2018 without success. They are now focusing on a new 15,000-square-kilometer area of the ocean with hopes that advanced technology and fresh data analysis will lead to answers.

For the families of the 239 passengers and crew members who were aboard MH370, this development is another step in their prolonged wait for closure. Over 20 pieces of debris believed to be from MH370 have washed ashore on African coasts and Indian Ocean islands; however, the main wreckage remains undiscovered.

The search for MH370 has been costly and extensive but so far unsuccessful. Whether this latest effort will resolve one of aviation's greatest mysteries remains uncertain.
