Denver Air Connection is preparing to take over the regional air service between Denver and Pueblo, succeeding Southern Airways Express. The transition is set to occur in May 2025, with Denver Air Connection scheduled to provide 12 weekly flights on this route beginning May 1. Until March 31, 2025, Southern Airways Express will continue to serve passengers traveling between the two cities.

Founded in 1997, Denver Air Connection operates as a subsidiary of Key Lime Air, offering both charter and scheduled passenger services. The airline manages a fleet comprised of ten aircraft, whose average age is reported to be 29.4 years as per ch-aviation data. This fleet includes several Dornier 328 turboprop airplanes, Embraer EMB 145LRs, an Embraer EMB 120, and an Embraer EMB 140LR.

In a statement to the Pueblo Chieftain, Tonya Ruhsenberger, a communications coordinator, shared, "We started in Colorado and we serve other hubs now but Colorado is really where our roots are. We already fly into Pueblo with our cargo airplanes so having this relationship extend to our passenger service is really exciting."

Denver Air Connection maintains a robust network of flights from Denver encompassing eight destination points, including cities such as Alamosa, Pierre, Watertown, and Cortez. Further, the airline operates several interstate routes linking various cities, with services reaching from Cortez to Phoenix and Telluride, Thief River Falls to Minneapolis, and Jackson to Atlanta. The airline also connects Chicago with cities like Dubuque and Muskegon.

Moreover, Denver Air Connection holds interline agreements with major carriers American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines. These agreements enable passengers to manage a single itinerary when flying across multiple airlines, benefiting from coordinated services such as ticketing and baggage handling.

Such interline agreements are advantageous for regional carriers providing essential connectivity between smaller airports and larger cities. These agreements differ from codeshare partnerships, where an airline sells seats on another airline's flight under its own flight number, often involving more integrated service and marketing activities.
