American Airlines will soon launch a new series of routes for the upcoming fall and winter, with the highlight being Oklahoma City's first international flight. From November 8, the airline will operate a non-stop service from Will Rogers World Airport to Cancún International Airport in Mexico. Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt expressed excitement, calling it a "historic moment" and a testament to the city's growth. Airports Director Jeff Mulder also recognized the role of American Airlines and noted that the airport’s customs facility is nearing completion.

The Oklahoma City-Cancun service will be a weekly flight, with tickets available from March 31. American Airlines is well acquainted with Cancun, scheduling more than 40 peak-day flights from 19 destinations, including Oklahoma City.

In addition to this landmark route, American Airlines has announced new services outside the United States, including routes to Punta Cana from Indianapolis, Nashville, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh-Durham. The airline will increase flights from Miami to Buenos Aires and expand service between Dallas/Fort Worth and São Paulo. European destinations like Dublin and Barcelona will also see extended services.

American Airlines expects increased demand for several international routes for the winter season. The airline will also boost domestic flights, particularly during Thanksgiving, with expanded services to Hawaii from Dallas-Fort Worth, and new routes connecting Los Angeles to Des Moines and Phoenix to Little Rock. Ski vacationers can look forward to new seasonal service between Charlotte and Aspen starting December 19.
