The transition of presidential assets with the new Trump administration in the White House has sparked interest in the Vice President's aircraft, commonly referred to as Air Force Two. These are modified Boeing 757-200 jetliners, equipped to ensure the security and efficient transportation of the Vice President, JD Vance, along with other officials. The U.S. Air Force has not announced any immediate plans to replace these aircraft, as funding for their replacement was reportedly removed from the 2022 USAF budget request.

Air Force Two, or the Boeing C-32A, differs from its commercial counterpart. The aircraft features substantial customizations including a reduced seating capacity for enhanced space, military-grade avionics, and advanced communication systems. The enhanced features include traffic collision avoidance systems and predictive weather warning functionalities. The C-32A is primarily used for high-priority personnel transport, a role known as the Special Air Mission. It facilitates global business operations in the air, supporting endeavors from diplomacy to crisis management.

The C-32A fleet, comprising four aircraft with the tail numbers 90015, 90016, 90017, and 90018, is well-configured for the Vice President’s engagements. Noteworthy modifications to the aircraft include segregated sections for communication, meeting spaces, and guest arrangements. The forward section serves the Vice President and includes advanced communication amenities. A private suite for the primary passenger offers resting areas, while the conference section supports staff and meetings. The cabin's rear is primarily reserved for the Vice Presidential entourage, providing general seating and necessary facilities.

Upgraded interiors were incrementally refitted during past presidencies, including Obama’s and the first Trump term, as well as Biden's time in office. These modifications enhanced the aircraft’s luxury with new furnishings and improved configurations, which incurred $16 million per aircraft. The C-32A boasts better range and utility over its predecessors, thanks to technological advancements like winglets that reduce drag and improve safety for escorting military aircraft.

The structural integrity of the C-32A aligns closely with commercial 757-200s, maintaining similar handling abilities. However, its significantly extended range is beneficial for conducting both domestic and international travel. It is suggested that the aircraft might be equipped with defense against electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attacks, similar to the Air Force One, a crucial feature that ensures secure operation in all scenarios.

Air Force Two continues to stand as a pivotal asset for the executive branch, supporting high-level travel and operations with efficiency and security.
